Envinate - Albahra 2018

Envinate means "wine yourself" - 4 friends who met at school decided to bring honest wines back to Spain. Their collective aim is to make profoundly pure and authentic wines that express the terruño of each parcel in a clear and concise manner. Albhara (Castillian for "small sea") is named for the vineyard area in the Almansa region close to the town of Albacete. A blend of 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Moravia Agria - this wine is straight-up awesome. Salty like the sea and elegant like the mermaids that dance in your mouth as you drink. 

Cellar Pardas - Sus Scrofa 2019

"Sus Scrofa" means wild boar. They are fixtures of the vineyard that Ramon (the winemaker) tends a few kilometers from Barcelona. Made with 100% Sumoll, and an ancient grape that was once not recognized by the association in Spain. You'll drink this and assume it's a cru Beaujolais. But it's not. So. Whatever.

Poderi Cellario - E Orange

The third appearance from Poderi in the Klub. A nice big L (for litro), but a nice big W (for the wine inside). 5 days maceration, aged in amphora, min sulphs, without filter or fining. This dude is the best!

Mother Rock - White 2018

Second visit for Mother Rock from South Africa. Grapes are sourced from 15 different sites. Some wild mixes of whole cluster techniques and blends - I don't even really know what it's about. The nose is beeswax, honeycomb and a touch of roasted lime and struck match. Strike it up and slurp it down.
