The LCBO is annoying. So, in an effort to exclude them from my life - you’ve all entered a crazy world of wine with me. Thanks!
I’ve selected 4 bottles of interesting wine, that the LCBO wouldn’t let grace their tiny-tiled isles.
FATTORIA SARDI PET-NAT ROSÉ 2018
Organic Trebbiano & red Muscato d’Amburgo (italian grapes I’ve not really, ever heard of) - some stainless steel skin-contact finished with ferment in the bottle to give it some natural bubbles. No sulfites added
LOUIS-ANTOINE LUYT PIPEÑO BLANCO MOSCATO BLEND 2018
200-year-old grapes (Moscatel de Alexandria and the rest a mix of Torontel, Semillon, and Chasselas) made by a winemaker from Burgundy. Totally natural. Very funky. Long with vigor. 1 Litro bottle, cuz whynotttt. NO SULFS
LOUIS-ANTOINE LUYT PIPEÑO PORTEZUELO PAÌS 2018
Same Louis-Antoine from above - but his Pais grape. The “working-mans” grape is native to Chile. Pepino is a style of Chilean winemaking made with traditional pipas barrels. 1 litro bottle - no added sulfs.
MEINKLANG BLAUFRÄNKISCH 2017
Meinklang is a biodynamic Austrian producer, who’s cattle and farm-life are critical to the fertilization of its fields and its production of these wines. Blaufränkisch is native to Austria and Hungary and hasn’t really left - if you like Pinot Noir or Carmenere - you’ll dig it
